Disability & ABA Services in California

Behavior change is a process, not an event

Located in California, CFA’s service model is a systematic process that ultimately results in changes in clients’ target behaviors that are socially relevant, particularly to those that provide direct support to clients. This is often achieved in disability & ABA services by teaching and strengthening new skills and no longer reinforcing or rewarding challenging behaviors. The behavior change process can be difficult for the client and challenging for caretakers, especially at the outset of behavior support plan implementation. CFA provides the support plan strategies, training, and coaching needed to be effective in changing clients’ behavior and achieving larger outcomes in life.

Change Factors Analysis Mission Statement:

CFA is outcomes driven. We commit to helping service providers and caretakers see beyond simple behavior goals to actual outcomes

People Are Complex

CFA understands that people are complex, and that behavior is influenced by a unique combination of environmental events, personal history, and biology.  CFA knows that behavior support plan implementation is critical to behavior change in disability & ABA services. Our behavior service process emphasizes not only functional assessment, but also ongoing training and coaching to support implementation. We believe with proper training, service providers can manage clients’ behavior crises, without dependence on hospitalization or severe restrictions that have an impact on a client’s well-being. CFA also believes in across-service collaboration. We work with other key team members, including other service providers, consultants, and psychiatrists, to promote behavior change across settings.

ABA Services

Change Factors Analysis’ ABA program works with all ages, all developmental disabilities, and all settings, to effectively support clients with challenging behaviors, including targeting and promoting positive skill development.

Residential Facility and Day Program Services

CFA’s residential facility and day program consultation is aimed at providing direct support staff (DSPs), administrators, and managers with the behavior support plan strategies and skill sets they need to effectively support clients with challenging behaviors, including targeting and promoting positive skill development.

Specialized Personal Assistant Services

This program provides a staff member as a personal assistant to support families / caretakers of individuals with developmental disabilities. The personal assistant support can provide for a variety of supportive services, including respite, daycare, and attendant care while implementing behavior management techniques. This is supplementary support, and not meant to be used as a standalone program, but rather a secondary service to an existing ABA program.

Frequently Asked Questions

disability & aba services questions
Do you take insurance?

We do not. We are regional center funded or contracted privately.

How do you provide telehealth?

In some circumstances we provide telehealth. Telehealth can be provided via any HIPPA compliant method that the client has access to. We find in person consultation to be much more beneficial.

What can I expect from a session?

Sessions are formatted to a client and/or family’s unique needs. Just like it should be!

Do I (the parent) need to be present?

Yes, for ABA services, it is part of the service design that caretaker be participatory in the session. Parent participation is not necessary for PA (Personal Assistant) services.
